Hmm, I have one of these:

Kinja'd!!!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IE0EZO

Unfortunately it’s currently buried down in the center console where I’d never be able to find it in an emergency (my old car had a small compartment where the ash tray would have gone that was perfect for it).

Clipping to the seat belt might be good.

Also for people looking for some sort of rescue tool, be aware that many of the hammer types are complete garbage that aren’t reliably strong enough to shatter tempered glass.

I had som ething like this on my keychain until I broke it a few weeks ago.  I need to go ahead and replace it.   I like the idea of something that'd attach to the belt instead

Id probably place it near the base of the belt on the B pillar, but I like it a lot

I keep this on my uniform, and we have seatbelt cutters and glass breakers on all our truck keys, like facw. I need another one so I can just keep it in my personal car full time.

I always carry a pocket knife for this reason and more . It’s amazing how useful a knife is. I keep a cheap one because it mostly cuts boxes, zip ties, pop beers, and is frequently used as a pry tool/screw driver.

Is that personal purchase or issued?

I'm only buying one for the Forte. I don't drive the ST enough to warrant it.

I always have one too. I call it my "nerd tool" rather than being "the knife guy". Mostly opening bottles, Amazon boxes or screws

Gotcha. I don’t need to keep it clipped to my person, but it will be a good tool for the Kia.

Im also kinda looking for a prybar/sledge combo. Sometimes I need to knock out remnants of broken windows or to pry things loose.

I kind of like your idea better, it seems more ergonomic.  Still,  anywhere you can reach easily is better than nothing..

I`ve got one of these in the truck. It was like $7, and keep it in the center console.

Kinja'd!!!

I`d have one in the car but there are no cubbies that would keep it flying around in an accident and if I clipped it to the key ring I couldn`t reach it if the seat belts are inertia locked.

I’ve quite liked carrying the Screwpop Ron’s utility knife. Its small on my keychain, cheap, I don’t have to sharpen it, and don’t worry about having to store or lose it at security.

Funny how someone in the office will be like “Does anyone have a knife?”. I’ll offer mine up, and everyone in the room will look at me like I’m a thug...”Ok Kathy, not if you’re going to judge me like that”

I don’t have it on me today, as I’m wearing the one pair of shorts it doesn’t fit in, but I daily carry a Cold Steel Rajah II.  Talk about judgy co-workers, lol.  It’s basically a folding machete, so everybody freaks out when I pull it out.  So much so that I also carry a little Husky folding box-cutter for loaning out, lol...

I used to carry a CS Ti-Lite, but stopped for the same reason you don’t bust out your pocket machete. The Ti-Lite looks awfully stabby.

Now I alternate between my Ontario RAT II and Kershaw Leek. Mostly the RAT. Then I have a super thin knife I carry when I’m wearing a suit.

I have an ancient Spyderco Police mo del in stainless, non-serrated, engraved with my badge number and my fire department crest from when I was a fireman, that’s been my “dress knife” for like ten years. It’s pretty stabby looking, but I rarely pull it out because I rarely need a knife when I’m dressed up. It’s really for stabbing anyway, as I wear it when I’m dressed up and in a non-permissive environment...

I used to carry a much bigger knife in my prior job where it didn’t phase anyone, but now in an office I found a good compromise:

Kinja'd!!!

I don’t like how bulky multitools are, and I use the knife by FAR the most often. But second to that, I use it to pry things, or for other things that would very definitely dull the blade, or risk breaking it. The other thing that folds out works as an ok flathead/phillips scredriver, obviously it’s a bottle opener, and you can pry without using the knife blade.

Anyway, that’s my two cents.

I had to look that up, but yeah, that crosses the line from pocketknife to weapon in a lot of places. Again, not judging as someone who’s carried a knife since college, some of which have been quite big.

I’m sorta known around here as a big guy with big stuff, lol... That’s my knife and my gallon water jug, marker for reference. I’m pretty much always thirsty, and I might have to fight off a gang of drug-addled hobos at any time, so I’m ready for either!

I’ve used the FUBAR, but found it heavy and awkward.  I prefer the one in the link, I’ve used it to force doors, pop clay roof tiles, bust windows, demo drywall, it’s very similar to tools I used as a fireman and I’m basically in love with it...
